1. Where in Sofia, Bulgaria is the church “St. Nedelya” and why to make christening there?
If you are going to christen your child in Sofia, Bulgaria and you are looking for a photographer, St. Nedelya Church is a beautiful and preferred place to introduce the child into the Holy Sacrament Baptism. The church is located in the center of the city Sofia, on St. Nedelya Square 20, next to the Balkan hotel. The christening takes place as a ritual and is guided by the father in about 20 minutes, and usually after it we make a brief photo shoot with the parents and the baptized child in the area of the church. The columns of the TZUM, the green garden behind the art gallery, and the area around the temple itself are nice and welcoming places for photographs and that’s why many parents choose this church for their celebration.
2. What is included as a photographic service for the Holy Baptism?
The baptism photography package includes child photos and the whole ritual in the church, official photos with guests and parents, photos with the godfather, a brief photo session of the family before or after the temple ceremony.
Traditionally, the celebration continues in a restaurant where it is possible to capture additional photos and memories of the event.
3. Holy Baptism in boho style photographs?
For the christening of the little Sophia in the church of Saint Nedelya I chose to process the photographs in the so-called boho style – desaturized, muted colors, a little added graininess – a film vision. I like this style of processing and sometimes apply it to weddings and photo sessions depending on the spirit and mood of the event. But for the first time I decided and I thought fit to do baptismal pictures in this style and color scheme.
